This division undertakes survey, preparation of project reports, detailed design, engineering,
manufacture,
supply, erection and commissioning of Small (1000 KW to 10,000 KW), Mini
(100 KW to 1000 KW) and Micro (5 KW to 100 KW) Hydro Electric Generating
Stations. The division is executing a number of such projects in Kerala
and in various other states in India.There is an ongoing technical collaboration with M/s. Koessler Ges.m.b.H. Austria, one of the world leaders in small hydro power technology. Recently SILK has also
signed
an MOU with International Centre on Small Hydro Power, Hangzhou, People's
Republic of China, for design and implementation of cost effective small
hydro power generating stations. It is pertinent to note that some of the
micro hydel sets supplied by SILK are portable to the extent that they can
be carried by 3 or 4 persons to remote areas.As a part of our diversification plan SILK has entered into an agreement with International players in this field for building RUBBER DAMS which is a new concept for better management of water resources like drinking water, irrigation water, tidal barrier etc. in India.
SILK will be most willing to be associated with turn-key execution of Small, Mini, and Micro hydel schemes on a time bound schedule, with-in India and abroad. This division also takes up supply, erection, commissioning, operation and maintenance of "Diesel Generating Sets" on a turn-key basis to different customers.
